In The Garden

Last month Miles and I started a garden. It's a tiny little garden, but we are pround of it. We planted bib lettuce, cucumber and tomato seeds. The lettuce is doing wonderful, the cucumber plants are starting to do great, but we don't have one tomato plant that came up. I heard after we'd planted them that it is hard to grow tomatoes from seed, so we'll probably go get some plants soon. We're also planning on planting carrot seeds too.

Miles is so excited about getting to eat cucumbers he grows later this summer! I can't wait to make "refrigerator pickles", my favorite kind! I've made them before, but never with cucumbers I've grown myself!

The lettuce is almost ready to start picking, so we'll soon have a salad made with lettuce we grew ourselves--how cool!

Miles truly loves plants. We can't go outside without him stopping to pick tiny flowers for me. Sometimes he wants to bring them in and put them in a vase on the table. I love that we have the chance to grow our little vegetable garden together and that he is learning that vegetables don't just come from a grocery store.

Hey - somehow I missed this post until just now - how does your garden grow?
